| No encryption | None of the satellite's transmissions are encrypted, and all of its formats are published on this site (RR 25.2A). Only the telecommand signals between the control station and the satellite may be protected. |
| Identification | The satellite transmits its callsign HR0UNA at short intervals (RR 25.9), in the CW beacon and in the source field of every AX.25 frame. |
| Transmission area | As a condition of coordination, MRZN only transmits during scheduled windows over Honduras and Central America. Outside them it only listens. |
| Cessation of emissions | The control station can switch off the transmitter by telecommand at any time (RR 22.1), and each transmission window ends on its own by timer. |
